Hi all -- I hope everyone is safe and well... and that getting out into the Canadian summer is making it at least a bit easier to deal with the restrictions imposed because of COVID-19. B)

There is a bit of news from IHE International that is, for some of us at least, very welcome. For most of its history, the "official" publication format for IHE Profile and Technical Framework documentation has been PDF. Over the coming months, this will change. IHE International is working to adopt HTML as the official publication mechanism for its technical specifications. This change reflects the fact that, for many of the new specs coming out of our technical committees, "computable" artefacts such as FHIR Implementation Guides are a key part of the technical package. We expect this trend to continue and to increase, as IHE starts to evaluate options to explicitly incorporate technical conformance-test specifications (in a parsable language such as gherkin, for example) as part of the IHE Profile, too.

What do you guys think about this? In what ways do you believe it might impact your ability to digest and use IHE Profiles? Please post comments to this thread; it will help us inform the future direction for IHE International's publication workflows. Also... for those inclined to do so... there is a short 2-minute survey that has been hosted by the IT Infrastructure technical committee. You can find it here.

Thanks, all, for any insights you can share. Stay well, and enjoy the sunshine!
Warmest regards,
Derek
