Ocean eReferrals: Seamless Referral Pathways with Native EMR Integration

Dr. Kavanagh, a family physician, will present Ocean, CognisantMD’s cloud-based platform for patient engagement tools. The technology provides functions for referrals and requisitions, clinical screening, patient surveys and the completion of administrative forms. Ocean’s e-Referral technology includes features such as a searchable map-based directory, EMR integration and online patient confirmations and alerts. This technology is currently being piloted in the Waterloo region where it is enabling physicians to order diagnostic imaging tests directly from their EMR. Ruth McKinley and Janice Tremblay from the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Cambridge Memorial Hospital will be on hand to share their experience with the implemented technology.

Our May meeting will also include updates about our community survey, and the launch of interRAI toolkit from CIHI (presented by Lynn McNeely).
