New Releases of pCLOCD and SNOMED CT Available July 31

The July 2019 versions of pan-Canadian LOINC Observation Code Database (pCLOCD) and Systematized NOmenclature of MEDicine Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT®) are available July 31 for review and implementation accessible on Terminology Gateway.

Changes to pCLOCD based on the June 2019 International release of LOINC® includes:

  • 782 total records with content edits in either English or French
    • 148 content edits
      • 30 terms had updates to component parts to align with current nomenclatures
      • 42 terms had updates to Scale from OrdQn to Ord because genotyping does not produce quantitative susceptability results
    • 612 term edits that introduce Tallman lettering for drugs based on recommendations from the Institute for Safe Medication Practices
    • 22 records were deprecated this release
