This updated version of the Guide for Using LOINC Microbiology Terms includes a new chapter (Chapter 9) addressing how to map observation result values for qualitative results.
The Guide for Using LOINC Microbiology Terms was created to help users select the most appropriate LOINC terms for clinical microbiology and infectious diseases laboratory tests according to best practices. The audience for this guide includes in vitro diagnostic (IVD) assay vendors, laboratory professionals, and anyone else that is mapping laboratory catalogs or individual tests within the fields of microbiology and infectious diseases to LOINC. You may provide comments, proposed edits, or other suggestions for future versions of this Guide on LOINC dedicated feedback site. If you have questions or need help unrelated to this guide, please see the Contact LOINC page. |
