To: DICOM STANDARD COMMITTEE
PLEASE NOTE: If you are a member of multiple WGs, you will receive a similar e-mail for each; however, your own contact information needs to be updated only ONCE. DICOM is updating its rosters and we need your help: A new set of rosters have been created to allow you to review your contact information in the DICOM database. Please review the attached roster and check if your contact information is current. Your help is much appreciated! Thank you!! ftp://d9-workgrps:Private15@medical.nema.org/MEDICAL/Private/Dicom/WORKGRPS/Committee/Rosters/Roster-DSC-2019-07-22-byorganization.pdf Corrections of the roster data 1. Please send an email to the DICOM Secretariat, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., with any corrections or updates needed for your own contact information. (You can also make these changes yourself by following the steps shown at the end of this e-mail.) 2. Please also tell us if there are others listed that may have left your organization and should be deleted. 3. Tell us also if you see a glaring error in the contact listing of your colleagues and alert them to update. 4. Likewise, if additional persons from your organization should be added, please ask them to log on to https://www.dicomstandard.org/participate/ request to be added. About DICOM Voting Membership • The voting status of each person on the roster is noted: Voting (one per company), Alternate Voting, or Observer. • All three categories receive the same DICOM information (i.e. an Observer receives everything.) • If the Chair or Co-Chairs of a Working Group call a vote on a technical matter or if there is an election of Chairs or Co-Chairs, only the Voting Members are entitled to cast a vote (or authorize an Alternate Voting member of their organization to do so.) • Observers may not vote. o The DICOM Patent Agreement, is an obligation to disclose knowledge of ownership of patents or pending company patent applications that overlap DICOM revisions (CPs) or DICOM additions (Supplements) being developed. The agreement commits one to grant non-exclusive license on reasonable terms should the patented technology is required to implement the DICOM Standard. In short, the Agreement is an obligation to disclose known patent issues but not an obligation to research the total patent portfolio; this is important for large companies with significant patent portfolios. o All Voting Members of DICOM Committees must sign the DICOM Patent Agreement. Below is a link to a collection of signed DICOM Patent Agreements to illustrate that this agreement is considered reasonable and workable by all those companies. https://www.dicomstandard.org/patent/ Communication within the Working Groups This is also a reminder that each person on a WG roster can send an e-mail to the entire roster by sending it to the Listserv (e.g. the DICOM Standard Committee Listserv address is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., WG-21 is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). Please be reminded that, in case you use multiple e-mail addresses, you can only send ‘Listserv’ e-mails from and receive same at the email address in the above roster. How to use the self-service feature of the DICOM database to make corrections to your own records What can you do yourself? • Review/update/revise your personal contact information (title, department, physical address, add/revise phone numbers, s] =cell phone, etc.) • Review all the lists of DICOM working groups and committees of which you are a member • Delete yourself from any working group or committee if you no longer wish to receive e-mails from that committee (some restrictions may apply to certain non-DICOM lists.) • Request the change of your e-mail address or organization/company affiliation. What can you NOT do yourself? • ADD yourself to Working Groups or committees.
