SNOMED CT CA/ SNOMED CT

Infoway's Standards Resources for COVID-19 contains regularly updated information on terminology changes in support of the Coronavirus outbreak.

SNOMED International Member logo

SNOMED CT® is the largest and most comprehensive medical terminology in the world.

The SNOMED CT Canadian Edition* contains concepts that are specific to use in Canada and is maintained by Canada Health Infoway. It is released in March and September of each year.

The International Release of SNOMED CT contains international content and is maintained by SNOMED International and released on January 31 and July 31 of each year.

 

*A national edition is the combination of a national extension such as the Canadian extension with the SNOMED CT International Edition.

Standards Access

To access licensed international and national health information standards (e.g. SNOMED CT), simply login to your Infoway Account and reconfirm acceptance of the Terms of Use and License Agreements annually. Fees are only collected for access and use of HL7 International materials.

All SNOMED CT, LOINC and Infoway software tools are available at no cost to users with an active Infoway account. Information provided during Infoway Account registration may be used to respect our contractual commitments with licensors such as HL7 International and SNOMED International, or to request feedback on artifacts downloaded via Terminology Gateway or Terminology API. Email us to opt out from receiving feedback emails of terminology downloads from the maintaining organization.
