With the advent of new electronic health record (EHR) implementations the timing is ripe to articulate a national strategy to unite Canadian nursing in representing, teaching, capturing, and reporting its practice. Further, a unified clinical data strategy will support the study and advancement of nursing practice and healthcare policy that will in turn strengthen the quality and safety of clinical care.
This presentation focuses on the progress being made in advancing clinical data standards in Canada and the value of this information for clinicians, healthcare leaders, policy makers and patients within the healthcare system.
